    The Worldwide Standard of Living Since Richard A. Easterlin B y many measures, a revolution in the human condition is sweeping the world. Most people today are better fed, clothed, and housed than their predecessors two centuries ago. They are healthier, live longer, and are better educated. Standard of living usually refers to the economic level of an individual, family, or can measure it by the value of the goods and services produced or used by the individual, family, or nation in a period of time..
